The 2-day workshop is delivered face-to-face and is designed for learners to develop their practical skills, knowledge and the right mindset for engaging men who use violence and abuse towards their female partners. This includes learning about how to use innovative engagement tools that supports all professionals, new and experienced, in their practice for this challenging field.

The workshop is designed to provide a transformative learning experience for professionals to address the significant challenges that arise when working with perpetrators, including denial, minimising, and blaming. Throughout the workshop, attendees will not only learn how to prepare for interviews with perpetrators but also be given a 3-step approach that enables a more productive and respectful direction for the interview that brings forth ethical statements about family violence. Participants will also gain access to an innovative mind-mapping framework to help generate insightful questions, assess the man's level of insight into his abuse, and gauge his readiness to safety plan.

The workshop focuses on developing practices that invite the man to move from a state of pre-contemplation to contemplation, creating opportunities for deeper reflection and accountability. Moreover, the workshop does not end when the session concludes—participants will leave with valuable resources, including post-workshop tools to continue rehearsing and refining their skills, to implement these skills into their practice. Whether you are new to working with perpetrators or seeking to deepen your expertise, this workshop offers a comprehensive and action-oriented approach for practitioners to build their capacity to foster real change in family violence intervention.
